Managed Website Hosting and Care for South African Businesses

Managed website hosting is the service of keeping a website live, fast, secure and up to date, so the business never has to. Every website we build is hosted on Vercel and cared for by us as part of the package: the framework is kept current, the site is backed up, its uptime is watched, and small changes are made for you each month without a quote.

There is no hosting bill on the side, no plugin to update and no control panel to learn. The site is served from Vercel’s network, close to wherever the reader is, and it stays as fast in month eighteen as it was on launch day.

Care covers the site as a whole. Content is a separate service, and the two run together: the pages we publish each month land on a site we know is healthy, and a site problem is found by us before it is found by a customer.

What website care includes

  • Hosting on Vercel, with the site served from a global network so it opens fast from Cape Town or Cape Cod
  • Security and framework updates applied as they are released, without a maintenance window you have to plan around
  • Backups of the content and the site, so nothing is one mistake away from gone
  • Uptime monitoring: if the site is down, we know before you do
  • 1 hour of small changes a month: a new phone number, a price, a staff photo, a paragraph on the About page
  • Speed, crawling, indexing and schema checked throughout, as part of the technical SEO in every package

Changes beyond the monthly hour are R1,000 an hour on Foundation. Growth and Authority include site work as the business needs it.

Why we host and care for the site ourselves

A website that depends on the owner logging in is a website that stops being updated. We have watched it happen on enough sites to build the service the other way round. Nothing depends on a client login: the content, the code, the hosting and the updates all run through us, and you get on with the business.

It also means we can stand behind the speed. A site hosted on shared hosting with forty plugins can be fast on the day it launches and slow a year later, and nobody notices until the rankings slide. Our sites are built in advance and served as finished pages, so there is nothing to slow down.

What is yours, and what happens if you leave

Your domain, the copy and images of every page we write, your data, and your Search Console, Google Business Profile and analytics are yours from the day you pay for them, and they leave with you. Plenty of agencies build the site on their own setup and keep the keys; you find out the site was never yours the day you try to leave.

The website, its design, code and templates, is licensed to you while the subscription runs and stays with us, the same way it would on any website platform. If you leave, the site can be transferred to you for a fee quoted on request, and at no charge after four years on the subscription. Notice is thirty days, in writing, after the minimum term.

Questions people ask about website hosting and care

Is website hosting included in the package?

Yes. Hosting on Vercel, security and framework updates, backups, uptime monitoring and one hour of small changes a month are included with every website we build, on every package. There is no separate hosting invoice.

What is managed website hosting?

Hosting is the computer the website lives on. Managed hosting adds the people: someone keeps the software current, backs it up, watches whether it is up, and makes the small changes. On a managed site the owner never logs into a control panel or patches a plugin, because there is no panel and there are no plugins.

Do I own the website you host?

Your content, images, domain, data and rankings are yours throughout and leave with you. The site, its design, code and templates, is licensed to you while the subscription runs. On exit it can be transferred to you for a fee quoted on request, and at no charge after four years on the subscription.

What if I need a change to the site?

Send it to us. One hour of small changes a month is included on every package. Work beyond that hour is R1,000 an hour on Foundation, and included as the business needs it on Growth and Authority.
